Terms of service

Marc turns a topic into short-form video: it writes copy and prompts, generates images and video, publishes to social accounts you connect, and reports how those posts performed.

It is a tool you direct. Nothing is published without your explicit approval, and you decide what is made and where it goes.

You need an account to use Marc. Keep your credentials secure — you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@projectmarc.com if you believe it has been compromised.

Content and connected accounts belong to a workspace. Members of a workspace can see its content according to the role they hold, and a workspace owner controls billing and membership. Adding someone to a workspace gives them access to what that workspace contains — invite deliberately.

You must be at least 18 years old.

You own the topics you enter and the content Marc generates for you. We claim no ownership of it. We store and process it only to run the service for you.

You are responsible for what you publish. You confirm that you have the rights to any material you supply, that what you publish is lawful, and that it complies with the rules of the platform you publish it to.

AI-generated content carries specific risks. Generated output may unintentionally resemble existing work, may be inaccurate, and may not be eligible for copyright protection in every jurisdiction. Review what you publish. Some platforms require AI-generated content to be labelled as such — meeting that obligation is yours.

You may connect accounts on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok. In doing so you authorise Marc to publish content you approve, and to read back performance data for those posts.

Your use of each platform remains subject to that platform's own terms. We are not responsible for a platform changing its rules, rejecting a post, limiting its reach, or suspending your account. Platforms may also change or withdraw API access, which can affect what Marc can do.

You can disconnect any account at any time, which revokes our access immediately.

You may not use Marc to create or publish content that:

• infringes anyone's intellectual property or other rights;
• impersonates a real person or organisation, or fabricates endorsements;
• is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit;
• knowingly spreads false information, particularly about health, elections or finance;
• breaches the rules of any platform you publish it to.

You also may not resell or redistribute Marc itself, attempt to circumvent usage limits or access controls, or use it to build a competing product.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches this section.

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor. Your plan determines the limits that apply to your workspace, such as how many social accounts you can connect.

Generation consumes paid third-party capacity. Where a plan includes generation allowances, unused allowance does not roll over. Marc shows you the copy and prompts before anything is generated, so you can review before that cost is incurred.

You can cancel at any time; your plan continues until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial periods except where South African consumer law requires it. If a payment fails we will retry, and may suspend the subscription if it keeps failing.

We will give you reasonable notice before changing prices.

We work to keep Marc available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. It depends on third-party providers — AI models, social platforms, payment and hosting — and their outages become ours. We may take the service down for maintenance.

Scheduled posts depend on the target platform accepting them at the scheduled time. We cannot guarantee a platform will publish any given post.

You can stop using Marc and delete your account at any time from Settings. Doing so deletes your content, as described in the privacy policy. Export anything you want to keep first.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. Except in cases of serious breach, we will give you notice and a chance to export your content.

Marc is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including lost profits, lost reach, or reputational harm arising from content you chose to publish.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

Nothing here limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law that cannot be contracted out of.

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Marc afterwards means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, you can close your account.

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction. We would much rather resolve a problem directly — email support@projectmarc.com first.
